

Career with WGL spanning 47 yrs. Pioneered Natural Gas Exploration throughout Oklahoma, Louisiana, and West Virginia; and instrumental in forming Ravensworth, Rockville, Hampshire and Crab Run Gas Companies. In the early 1940’s, promoted education in gas measurement and pressure regulation. Graduate of Texas A&I, magna cum laude, Chemical Engineering, and graduate studies at Maryland U.
Born to Harry & Rose Ketcham on Jan. 4, 1919, their 11th generation in America, he lived 93 fully active years until Nov. 14, 2012. Married 73 yrs to Frances, Father to Marijon (Venglik), Pat, Paul, and Kathleen (Berg), 10 Grandchildren, and 7 Great Grandchildren who still cherish his devotion and celebration of life.
Organized and coached first Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball and built their fields for 10 yrs. He was an Eagle Scout. Helped organize local BSA and was a merit badge counselor. Was a founding member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church; loved to play Northern Virginia Senior Softball-a 21-yr member; and loved singing in 2 Choirs – Wakefield Chorale, and church. Research and wrote a 68 pg genealogical history of his family; and entertained all persons fortunate to make his acquaintance. A viewing will be held Saturday Nov 17, 8:30-11:00 am at National Funeral Home, Falls Church, VA ; followed by 12: noon Mass at St. Michael’s, Annandale, VA. Burial to follow at National Memorial Park, after the burial everyone is invited to the family home.
