Henry was born in New York City to Yetta (Henrietta) Felber and Jacob Felber on May 7, 1934. He lived there until age 12, when he moved with his parents and younger siblings, Charles and Gail, to Miami, Florida.
Henry graduated from the University Of Miami with a degree in Electrical Engineering. While in college, he joined ROTC, later serving in Japan for the Air Force.
In 1960, He married Judith Unatin in Sacramento, California, and had three children in quick succession. While Judith stayed home to tend to the children, Henry worked for IBM. True to IBM tradition, the job moved the family across the country and beyond, from California to Florida; Ohio; North Carolina; New Jersey; Kwajalein, Marshall Islands; Virginia; California; and finally back to Virginia, where Henry retired from a career defined by integrity and quiet excellence. Henry and Judith moved to a retirement community in Ashburn, Virginia in 2023.
During his life, he was an avid cyclist. He also enjoyed sailing, singing, and ballroom dancing. He loved to collect pens, watches, and pocket knives, amassing a large collection that reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship. His latest commitment was volunteering at a local hospital.
He is survived by his beloved wife Judith Felber, his children Joseph Felber (and wife Judi), Steven Felber, and Rachel Berman, and his brother Charles Felber (and wife Patty). Henry is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to TempleRodefShalom.Org.
