

Jacqueline Ann Jackman, 73, of Vienna, Virginia, passed away on August 8, 2025, in her home. Jackie displayed an exuberant spirit and a love of music and art that resonated throughout her life and is survived by siblings Douglas and Edward, their respective families, numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. Visitation will be held at Murphy Funeral Home in Falls Church, Friday, August 22 from 10-12, followed by a burial at Oakwood Cemetery.
She was born in Washington, DC to Dorothy and George Jackman on June 17, 1952. As a young person, Jackie sang in her church choir, played piano, drew and sketched animals, and was an avid Star Trek fan. Later in life she accompanied religious services on piano and organ.She attended George Mason High School and was a member of the National Honor Society. Jackie attended Madison College and graduated with a degree in Art Education.It was at Madison that Jackie became a staff artist for the Virginia Music Educators Association (VM EA), drawing original cartoons that appeared in NOTES, the journal of the VMEA. Jackie made the Dean’s list and received the Madison College Excellence in Art award in 1974.
After graduation, Jackie was a public-school teacher in the Virginia Beach area. Later she moved to Richmond, enrolled at Reynolds Community College and pursued an associate’s in computer programming.After working for various IT companies,Jackie moved to Northern Virginia and was hired by Navy Federal Credit Union as a programmer where she remained until retirement. Aside from programming, Jackie developed her public speaking skills by becoming an active member of Toastmaster International, rising to Secretary of her chapter.
Jackie loved animals and had two pet dogs over the year, Peanut and Buster. Both dogs were adopted from shelters and helped keep Jackie active. After retirement, Jackie dedicated herself to acquiring new pastime activities, notably Bridge,Canasta and Dominoes, as well as keeping up with family and friends. She leaves us missing her humor, laughter and funny stories.
A celebration of life for Jacqueline will be held Friday, August 22, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Murphy Funeral Home, 1102 West Broad Street, Falls Church, VA 22046, followed by a graveside service from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM.
