Jessica Pam Slater

Jessica was born in New York, NY to Joel and Brenda Demby on April 5, 1962. She went to school at Scarsdale HS, Scarsdale, NY. She married Eric S. Slater on May 23, 1992 in South Salem, NY. She graduated from University of Hartford, West Hartford, CT in 1984.

She worked as a teacher for many years in New York and New Jersey, including at a school focusing on care for children with autism, and more recently in Virginia as an entrepreneur specializing in web-based businesses.

Jessica was a supporter of the arts; attending Broadway shows was among her favorite pleasures.

Jessica is preceded in death by both her parents.

Jessica is survived by her husband Eric, her daughter Caitlin, her sister Jacqueline Demby-Greenberg, brother-in-law Andrew Greenberg, mother-in-law Barbara Slater, brother-in-law Andrew Slater, sister-in-law Jill Slater, four nieces, her Aunt Rita Wein, and numerous cousins.

In lieu of flowers, we request that donations be made in Jessica’s name to the American Cancer Society.

The family of Jessica wishes to extend our sincere thanks to her oncologist Dr. Camila Sahebi in Vienna, VA, to Dr. Maria Cabanillas and her team at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX (where they specialize in the type of cancer Jessica had), and to the wonderful nurses during her hospice care at the Adler Center For Caring in Aldie, VA.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at National Memorial Park, Falls Church, VA, with Rabbi Lauren Laird of Temple Beth Torah in Chantilly, VA, officiating. Burial will follow at King David Memorial Gardens, Falls Church, VA. Arrangements are by National Memorial Park.
