John M. Fitzpatrick "FitzP" passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the age of 89. A resident of Springfield, VA, he is survived by his wife of 68 years, Patricia R. Fitzpatrick; children Kim Malek (Tim), Michael Fitzpatrick, Barbara Fitzpatrick (Chips Stewart), Robert Fitzpatrick (Beth) and Brian Fitzpatrick; grandchildren JoAnne, Colin, Stephen, Ryan, Caitlin and Danny; great grandchildren Charlie Anne and Joseph. He is predeceased by his son James "Mac" Fitzpatrick. The family will be receiving friends at the Murphy Funeral Home, 1102 West Broad St., Falls Church, VA 22046 on Wednesday, April 3, from 2-4 & 6-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Raymond of Penafort Catholic Church, 8750 Pohick Rd, Springfield, VA on Thursday, April 4 at 11am. Interment with military honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
