Josefa Yusi Esguerra

She was born on June 19, 1932 in San Fernando, Pampanga, Philippines and emigrated to the United States in 1971. Worked for WMATA (Metro) for many years. She is remembered for her quiet, loving demeanor and the way that she selflessly cared for her family and friends. Josie was happiest when surrounded by her family, including her grandchildren and, later, great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father, Miguel; her mother, Nieves; and siblings Alfredo, Ruben, Rosario and Jose.

She is survived by her daughter Teresa (Ralph) of Falls Church, VA; grandchildren Sheena (Aaron) of Fairfax Station, VA; Christina (Jonathan) of Springfield, VA; and Steven (Elise) of Clayton, NC; great-grandchildren Morgan, Addison, Darcy, Nolan, Cyrus, Jackson and Felicity; and sister, Cora (Ben) of Rowland Heights, CA.

A visitation for Josefa will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Murphy Funeral Homes, 1102 West Broad Street, Falls Church, VA 22046, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
