Joseph Edward Coneys

Joseph E. Coneys CDR, USN (RET) 2/4/1936 – 11/11/2014 Joseph died unexpectedly on November 11, 2014. Born in Quincy, Massachusetts. A graduate of Archbishop Williams H.S., 1953, Boston College, 1957, and graduated OCS, Newport Rhode Island, 1958. Joe served 25 years active duty on various ships and commands worldwide. He married Margaret “Bridget” Cuming in 1960. They have four children, Christopher F., Bridget C., Timothy J., and Meghan E. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Bridget, in 2011. He is survived by four grandchildren, Kieran, Quinn, Erin and Colin and son-in-law, Sean Fensterwald. He is also survived by his brother Thomas Coneys, and sister Catherine Dion, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Murphy Funeral Home, Falls Church, VA on Wednesday, Nov. 19 from 5-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. James Catholic Church, Falls Church, VA on Thursday, Nov. 20, at 10 a.m. Funeral Mass will take place at the Old Post Chapel, Fort Myer, VA, on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 12:45 p.m. Interment, with full military honors, will follow at Arlington National Cemetery.
