Joyce Anita Kelley

Joyce was born at her family’s home in Fairfax Va. on July 15th. 1939, to the late Harry Shelton Sr. and Laura Mae Hill. Joyce was one of 8 children, Harry Jr, Patricia, Gene, Robert (Bob), Bruce, Earl and Roxanna, all preceded her in death.

Joyce married Elmer O. Kelley on June 2nd, 1960, and 3 children were born from this union. Jeffery Kelley, Johnathan Kelley and Jade Kelley. Joyce is also survived by 6 grandchildren. Casey, Daniel, Colin, Mallory, Colby and Guiseppe. 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Joyce was a graduate of Fairfax High School in 1957. Joyce and Elmer moved into their home on West St. in Falls Church after marriage and lived there for more than 50 years. Joyce was well known by many in her community and had many long term friendships with neighbors.

She worked for many years as a legal secretary for the Ratner corporation and Redstone development corporation. Joyce loved spending time with her grandchildren and her family. She was very close to her sisters, brothers and all their children. The family spent countless hours together and celebrated every occasion. Joyce loved taking photos to capture the moments. She captured so many beautiful memories of the family to be enjoyed for years to come.

She was a loving and caring person to all. Devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She cherished every moment spent with loved ones.
