

He leaves his wife of 64 years, Mary Ella (Springston) Andrukonis; his daughter Susan Andrukonis Phillips; six sons, Robert (Pam), Thomas (Victoria), David (Barbara), James (Carolyn), John (Krista), and Paul (Christine); 22 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. He also leaves one sister, Bernadette Melnic, of Orwigsburg, Pa. Mr. Andrukonis was predeceased by his mother and father, Walter Andrukonis and Stella (Wasilewski) Andrukonis one grandchild, and one great grandchild.
Mr. Andrukonis was born in Shenandoah, Pa., and after serving his country in World War II, he graduated from Penn State University where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering and later worked at Fort Belvoir, the Pentagon, and for Army Material Command. He used his singing skills as a cantor at Saint James Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Glee Club and Fourth Degree Choir. His love of faith, family, and music were passed on to all who knew him.
Visitation will be at Murphy's Funeral Home, Falls Church, Va. on Monday, August 1 from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held at Saint James Catholic Church, Falls Church, Va. at 10 a.m. August 2. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catholic Charities Diocese of Arlington.
