

Born Jan 2, 1921 in Westside, Iowa. Len recently past away in Orlando, FL following several years of illness with Alzheimer's disease.
Len was a decorated and honorably discharged USMC Staff Sergeant who served in the WWII South Pacific theater before serving at the Dept of Defense at the Defense Fuel Supply Command for 20+ years in Northern Virginia. He retired to Florida in 1971.
He is survived by: Wife- Jane Nix Diesselhorst of Orlando, FL; 5 children: son, Bill D. and wife Debbie of Johnson City, Tn ; daughter, Karen D. Rybicki of Orlando, FL; son, David D. and wife Carolyn Richar of Annandale, VA; daughter, Lynn D. and husband Kevin Lansberry of Orlando, FL; and daughter, Nancy D. and Marcos Marchena of Orlando, FL; 13 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
While in NorthernVirginia, he was active in: Bethel United Church of Christ; The Elks lodge; and the Falls Church Kiwanis Western American Little League Baseball League. In Florida, he was an active member of Kiwanis.
A memorial service will be held at Bethel United Church of Christ on Sunday at 2:00 pm. A graveside service will be held on Monday, Sept. 14 11:00 am at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, Va. where he will be laid to rest along side of Henry Louis and Lydia, his parents, and Laurel Troup, his sister.
