Linda Jean Duncan

Linda was born 11 October 1947 in Chicago, IL to Roland and Betty Donaldson. Though she was an only child, she had 47 first cousins. She graduated Proviso West High School, earned her Bachelor’s in Mathematics from the Northwestern University, and her Master’s from American University in Washington DC.

Linda moved to the Washington DC area after graduating Northwestern University in 1969. That same year, she married Roger Duncan.

After graduating, she began her career as a government consultant with Mitre Corporation, and retired from Noblis (an offshoot of Mitre) as Operations Director.

In 1983, Linda married George Erskine. They lived in Georgetown before moving to Vienna, VA. In retirement, Linda and George split their time between their homes in Virginia and Florida.

Linda was an avid gardener and loved working in her gardens. She enjoyed going to antique and depression-era glass shows, exploring family histories, sharing stories of her life and adventures with family and friends.

Linda passed away in Naples, FL on 20 April 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents (Roland and Betty Donaldson) and husband (George Erskine). She is survived by her stepdaughter, many cousins, and numerous friends.
