
Born to Raymond and Catherine Ball, on October 19th, 1938 in Arlington, Virginia, she and her twin sister Marjorie grew up on a farm in McLean, Virginia and graduated from McLean High School. Margaret began working at C & P Telephone Company where she met her husband, Claude Marvyn Hollar, Jr. The two married August 30th, 1958 and went on to have four children, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. A dedicated worker, who had two careers her whole life, Margaret finally retired in 2019 at the age of 80, from Long and Foster. When not working, Margaret loved spending time with her family, growing an array of flowers in her garden, or volunteering at Chesterbrook United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Claude, her daughter Mary, and her grandson, Daniel. She is survived by her twin sister, Marjorie Ball, her children: Judy, David, and Raye, her grandchildren: Paige, Haley, Ian, Margaret, and Raymond, and her great-grandchildren: Penn, Daniel, Patton, Palmer, and Jonathan.
For those that wish to attend, a viewing will be held Friday, April 17th from 4 pm to 8 pm at Murphy Funeral Home in Falls Church. Margaret’s service will be Saturday, April 18th, at 10 am at Chesterbrook United Methodist Church, 1711 Kirby Road, McLean, VA 22101 with a reception to follow the graveside service. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, daughter, and grandson at Oakwood Cemetery.
