Martin Horn, aged 73, passed away peacefully on June 15 at his home in Alexandria, Virginia. Martin was born in the District of Columbia on October 11, 1951 to Frances and Samuel Horn. He was raised in College Park and University Hills, Maryland, and attended the Johns Hopkins University (Bachelor of Science, 1972) and the University of Maryland (Master of Science, 1974). After college, Martin worked almost fifty years for the same company, The Columbia Group, earlier called Columbia Research Corporation. He was a Certified Professional Logistician, working as a contractor for the federal government and mostly for the US Navy and the US Marine Corps.
Martin delighted in several activities, perhaps most of all caring for and playing with his cats Carmen, succeeded by Stewart and Stormy. He loved playing in community bands and musical groups, especially the Rockville Concert Band and the Alexandria Citizens Band. He was an enthusiastic member of Toastmasters International. He enjoyed photography, steam railroads, and his alma maters, Johns Hopkins and University of Maryland.
Martin is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Bernie Horn and Nancy Schwalb, and his nephews Andrew and Jeremy Horn.
