

Nematollah “Massoud” Nooralian of Fairfax, Virginia, passed away July 24, 2014. Born July 2, 1938 in Tehran, Iran, he was the youngest son of the late Astollah Farzian and Sohgra Tehrani. He is survived by his wife, Beth Burnside Nooralian and daughter Skyler. He is also survived by former wife Mary Adkins Nooralian and their children Steven (Flor) Nooralian, Shari (John) Deeb, Roxanna (Scott) Talbott and grandchildren, Dr. Jessica Nooralian, Vanessa Nooralian and Justin, Sophia, Grayson and John Paul Deeb. He is survived by one sister, Fatima Nauzi Farzian of Rockville, MD. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Hope Nooralian.
Massoud came to the United States in 1959 to attend the School of Architecture at Howard University where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture. He worked for various architecture firms in the Washington, DC area before founding the firm Nooralian Nelson & Associates, LLC with Beth and friend, James R. Nelson in 1985.
Massoud treasured so many things in life. He loved working in the office with Beth, Jim and dear friend Sue. He enjoyed his yearly trips with his family and friends to Mount Desert Island, ME and Key West, FL. Massoud was extremely fond of trips to the Northern Neck with his nephew Ali and his wife Peggy. He loved cooking for anyone who visited and loved creating huge dinners at Christmas for all his children and grandchildren to enjoy. In recent years he had been a passionate fan of his daughter Skyler’s softball team. He was always a devoted fan of the Washington Redskins, the old Washington Senators baseball team and was delighted when the Washington Nationals came to town. He was a member of Pender United Methodist Church, Fairfax, VA.
