Mattie Ruth Alexander

Mrs. Mattie Ruth Conally Alexander, age 88, a resident of River Landing at Sandy Ridge passed away Thursday, Feb 16, 2012 at her residence. She was born Nov 25, 1923 in Guilford Co. NC, daughter of Fred Davis Conally and Nell Carlan Conally. She was retired from Fairfax County VA school system and was a member of First Wesleyan Church in High Point, NC. She was first married to Ray Durham who preceded her in death, Aug 11, 1944, Then she was married to Robert James Alexander, Sr. who preceded her in death Aug 19, 1981. Mrs. Alexander was also preceded in death by a brother Fred D. Conally, Jr. Surviving are, one daughter, Dawn A. Matthews of Fairfax, VA; one son, Robert James Alexander, Jr. of High Point, NC; one sister, Doris Jones of Thomasville; one Brother, Harold Conally and wife Carol of Thomasville. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Feb 19, 2012 at 4:00 PM in J. C. Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Carroll Upton officiating. The family will greet friends Sunday from 3:00 to 4:00 PM prior to the service. The interment will be Wednesday, Feb 22, 2012 in the National Memorial Park, Falls Church, VA.
