Melanie Ruth Nichols

Melanie Ruth Nichols Melanie Ruth Nichols, 43, of Falls Church, Virginia, passed away on February 6, 2023, at home with her family. She was born on December 3, 1979, in Washington, DC, to Jeanne Willet Nichols and the late John Wesley Nichols. Melanie attended Immanuel Lutheran School in Alexandria and was a graduate of Alexandria City High School. She received a Bachelor of Music degree from Grove City College. She worked for 16 years at Potter Violins, Takoma Park, MD, in rentals and as event coordinator. She was a violinist and enjoyed playing and listening to various kinds of music, attending concerts, swimming, time at the beach, traveling, cooking, pizza, and spending time with family and friends. She practiced “love thy neighbor as thyself.” Melanie is survived by her mother, Jeanne Willet Nichols, and her sister, Angela L. Nichols, both of Falls Church, VA, and aunts, uncles, and cousins. A memorial service and celebration of Melanie’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 1, at 1:30 p.m. at The Falls Church Anglican, 6565 Arlington Boulevard, Falls Church, VA. The service will be livestreamed from tfcanglican.org. A reception will follow. Burial will be private.
