Richard Augustine Kearny

Richard Augustine Kearny Jr. born August 21, 1923 in Washington D.C., son of the late Dr. Richard Augustine Kearny and Edmonia Mason Adams Kearny. Husband of the late Mary Jean Tracy Kearny, father of Richard Augustine Kearny, Joseph Francis Kearny and Michael Anthony Kearny all of McLean, Virginia. Brother of Edmonia Catherine Kearny of Washington D.C. and of the late James Dexter Kearny of Atlanta, Georgia. He served in World War II with the United States Army in Company A 329th Infantry in 1944. He was a prisoner of war for 72 days and decorated with 2 purple hearts. He retired on June 3, 1989 from the Federal Highway Administration, Department of Transportation in Langley, Virginia. He was a strongly devoted member of Saint Luke Catholic Church in McLean, Virginia. May he rest in peace with God our heavenly father. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, October 4th, 11:00 am, at Saint Lukes Catholic Church, McLean of which is was a member. Final interment service will be at the Parklawn Cemetery in Rockville, Maryland with Military Honors.
