“BOB” (Age 95)
On January 26, 2013. Bob Lindner, a former resident of Falls Church, McLean, and Reston, VA, was the devoted husband of Ilene W. Lindner from 1952 until her death in 1998. He is survived by his son, R.C. “Chuck” Lindner, Jr, daughter-in-law, Susan H. Lindner, and grandchildren John, Claire, Timothy, Katherine, and Michael Lindner. Raised in Glendale, OH, he served in the US Army Air Corps and US Air Force during WWII and the Korean War, attaining the rank of Captain. He earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 1949. He then worked for the Department of the Navy in Washington, DC, retiring in 1974. He was a member of Chesterbrook Presbyterian and Idylwood Presbyterian Churches. Viewing on Friday, Feb 1 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Murphy Funeral Home in Falls Church, and service on Saturday, Feb 2 at 11AM at Idylwood Presbyterian Church in Falls Church. Interment at Quantico National Cemetery will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 11am.
