Robert Groves Sumner

Robert Groves Sumner was reunited with the love of his life, Eve Susanne (Bradley) Sumner on February 25th, 2022. His wife of 49 years they enjoyed traveling the world, raising their daughters, volunteering at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Houston TX, dancing ‘til dawn and many dinner parties with friends and family.

Born October 3, 1932, he lived a long, happy life and died peacefully at home with his “girls”. An Eagle Scout, US Veteran, life-long learner, international business consultant, Mediator – Small Claims Court Houston TX, talented pianist and golf enthusiast, his gentle manner and caring spirit guided his life.

He is survived by three children, Valerie (Sumner) Guenther, Mary Sumner, and Roberta Sumner. Bob was a beloved Grandfather to Stephanie and Robert Guenther, always their greatest “fan” on and off the field.

We ask that donations be made to the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, Houston TX in lieu of flowers. Bob and Sue were active parishioners, docents, and volunteers at The Co-Cathedral.

A Mass to celebrate his life is planned for March 15, 2022, at 1:00pm at St. James Catholic Church – 905 Park Ave, Falls Church VA
