

Romeo Villa Nido, age 75, of Ashburn, Virginia, passed away on March 14, 2025, in Miami, Florida, surrounded by his family. He was a beloved husband, father, and friend, whose legacy of dedication, strength, and service will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Born on October 20, 1949, in M Pulo Tanauan Batangas, Philippines, Romeo was the son of Tiburcio Tuiza Nido and Juliana Villa Nido. He graduated from Far Eastern University in Manila, where he laid the foundation for his career and future life. In 1980, Romeo married the love of his life, Carolina Rutaquio, in Falls Church, Virginia. Together, they built a strong and loving family, raising two sons, Brian and Jeff Ryan, who were his pride and joy.
Romeo’s professional career spanned over 25 years as a Controller for Hyatt and Westin Hotels, where he earned the respect of colleagues and superiors alike for his keen financial expertise and unwavering commitment to excellence. Prior to immigrating to the United States, Romeo served with distinction as a Captain in the Philippines Constabulary Military Police Force, a role that highlighted his leadership, discipline, and service to others.
In all aspects of his life, Romeo embodied dedication, loyalty, and love. He took pride in caring for his family and fostering strong, lasting relationships with friends and colleagues. Whether through his work, military service, or his personal life, Romeo’s kindness and integrity touched many lives, and his influence will be felt for generations to come.
Romeo is survived by his loving wife, Carolina Rutaquio Nido; his sons, Brian Nido and Jeff Ryan Nido; as well as many cherished relatives including his four siblings Carmelita Oquendo, Marianito Nido, Nora Lagdameo and Nelia Africa and their respective families.
Family and friends are invited to honor Romeo’s life during visitations on Tuesday, March 25th, from 2-5 PM and Wednesday, March 26th, from 4-7 PM (with Livestream from 5-7PM) at National Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Virginia, 22042. A funeral service will be held at 9:45 AM on Thursday, March 27th, at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, 13807 Popular Tree Road, Chantilly, Virginia, 20151, with Rev. Sean Nypaver officiating. A burial will follow at 12:00 PM at National Funeral Home & Memorial Park.
Romeo’s spirit, warmth, and generosity will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
