

He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years Susan and two sons, Stephen (26) a graduate like his father of George Mason University and Aaron (23) a recent graduate of the University of Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents Wallace and Ida and his brother Wallace, Jr. He is survived by his sister, Judith (Alan) Burk. Sister-in-law, Margaret Gooding, nephews, Wallace III, Mark (Nicole) and Christopher (Amy) Gooding and a niece Jennifer (Jimmy) Bunn and great nephews Nicholas, Jacob Gooding, great-nieces Gabrielle, Alexandra Gooding and Lily and Chloe Bunn.
Also sister-in-law, Janet Hopper, brothers-in-law Jerry (Marie), Ray and Robert Pietroboni and nieces Lisa (Tosh) McCain and Kerri (Cory) McLain and great niece and nephew Megan and Jessie McCain and great nieces and nephew, Averie, Ella and Cole McLain.
He is also survived by two uncles William and Tim (Patsy) Giese and many cousins.
Ron grew up in Capitol Heights, MD and lived in Vienna, VA for 29 years. He graduated from Central High School, Prince George’s Community College and George Mason University where he earned his degree in Computer Science and attended American University for his Master’s Degree.
He was in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years where he was an aircraft electrician. He saw the world while serving our country and fought in the Vietnam War. He worked at the Central Intelligence Agency for 40 years. He worked his way up from a courier to a Computer Analyst when he retired.
He coached Vienna Little League, was on the Board of the Sailfish Resort Homeowners Association in Myrtle Beach, SC and played softball in the Fairfax Adult Softball League and most recently with the Silver Streaks team for many years. He is the Gill Family Historian. He is an avid Washington sports fan and any team his sons were playing on through the years.
Services will be held at National Funeral Home in Falls Church, VA with a viewing on September 5th from 6-9 PM, and Internment at the Cemetery of the National Memorial Park on September 6 at 11am. In lieu, of flowers please make a donation to the American Cancer Society.
