Rosemarie Smith

Rose was born in Washington, D.C. to John and Anna Miller on January 3, 1930. She graduated from Central High School in Washington, D.C. in 1947. She married Earl Herbert Smith, Jr. on February 4, 1961 and they shared 53 years together until Earl’s passing in 2014.

In her teenage and early adult years she worked as a clerk typist for several companies including Kennesaw Drug Store, New York Jewelry Company, L.P. Steuart, and also the U.S. Departments of Commerce and Interior. From 1980 to 1993 she served as the bookkeeper for Globe USA, Inc., a home builder in the Northern Virginia area.

While in high school, she was a member of the National Honor Society, Girls “C” Club, and Red Cross Club and also served as President of the German Club. She was known to be quite the athlete and played softball, field hockey, and basketball.

Rose is preceded in death by her husband Earl, father and mother John and Anna Miller, and sisters Pauline and Edna.

Rose is survived by two sons and their spouses: John B. Smith and Susan Tseng and Brett C. Smith and Dina Smith and five grandchildren: Jackson, Garrett, Tyler, Grayson, and Brayden.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Cheryl Regan, Rose’s work colleague at Globe, USA, Inc. and longtime friend for her support.

A visitation will be between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm on June 28, 2025 followed by a memorial service from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm and burial from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm followed by a reception from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at National Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042.
