

Sheila was born in Ironton Missouri to Alfred Hugh and Edythe Lotz on November 18th, 1945. She went to school in Millville, NJ, and attended Rider College in New Jersey. After college, Sheila moved to New York where she worked as a model and eventually found the career she loved as a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines where she worked both here and abroad. It was also during her time with the airline that she met her husband-to-be, a pilot for Eastern, Jerome P. Shapiro. They would be married on April 8th 1969.
She would also spend some of her career working in fashion and formal wear.
Sheila is preceded in death by her parents, Jack (Alfred), and Edythe; her brother Jerry and her husband Jerome.
Sheila is survived by her sons Michael and Andrew, and her nieces Kimberly, Tracey and Robin.

The Shapiro family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff and management of The Gardens at Fair Oaks for their care and efforts in her last days and to the medical staff at the ICU of Inova Fairfax for their incredible compassion and skill in easing her final moments.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday the 3rd of September at National Funeral Home with Rabbi Jonathan Maltzman officiating. Burial will follow at King David Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Dignity Memorial.
