Shirley was born on June 13, 1935 to the late Rev Delma Horace Lowder and Zula Watson of Rowan County, NC.
She is survived by her husband, Durwood Armstrong; children Nancy Rea Rehm and Michael Rea of Clayton, NC and Cathy Del Rea of Fayetteville NC; grandchildren Nicole Rea Harrell, Thomas Godwin, Laura Elizabeth Hershey and Jessie, Gracie and Hunter Rea.
There will be a visitation honoring Shirley’s life from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Thursday, March 10th, 2022 at Murphy’s Funeral Home in Falls Church, VA. Additional services will be held on March 14, 2022 beginning at 10am at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville, NC.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the “Building Fund” at Columbia Baptist Church in Falls Church, VA; 103 West Broad Street, Fall Church, VA 22046.
