Shizue was born on October 25, 1932 in Oita, Japan, to Tsuruki and Sayo Sato. She immigrated to the U.S. in January of 1964 where she raised and supported her family through her extraordinary talent of sewing and tailoring. This skill saw her through many years at the House of Chanel and eight years servicing First Lady Laura Bush.
She is survived by her daughters Christine Sato Grandstaff, Catherine Allyson Wright, Caroline Angela Delaney and their families who she cherished so very much. Her surviving brother, Yoshihara Sato, resides in Japan.
A memorial service will be held from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, June 26, at National Funeral Home in Falls Church, VA.
