

Terrill was born a twin in Bombay, NY to Alfred and Betty (Cook) Hooper on May 4, 1943. She attended the Mohawk Freedom School, Madrid Central School and Ogdensburg Free Academy, Ogdensburg, NY. She married Alfred (Happy) O'Brien June 11, 1966 at St. Mary's Cathedral, Ogdensburg, NY. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1961 as valedictorian of her class.
She worked as a legal secretary and paralegal for various law firms around the country for over 30 years including her very first one - O'Connell McEwen & Dupre, Ogdensburg NY and retiring from The Peterson Companies, Fairfax VA in 2003.
Terrill was very proud of her Mohawk heritage. She was well known for creating unique one of a kind hand crafted beaded amulet bags with which she traveled extensively throughout the country for Native American Juried Art shows. She received much recognition of her very talented work from the Department of Interior, Washington DC. She taught many students the art of making beaded amulet bags. In addition she was a very talented artist.
She was a long time member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Annandale, VA and took much comfort in her faith.
Terrill was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister Sherrill Hooper and siblings Edward Hooper, Emily Hooper Brashaw, Gregory Hooper, Candace Hooper and Joyce Zezulak as well as her granddaughter Maggie O'Brien.
Terrill is survived by her husband Alfred (Happy), her children, Sherrill (Jody) Givens and Corey (Jennifer) O'Brien, as well as her grandchildren, Bailey (Bryce) Gibson, Iain O'Brien, Joseph O'Brien and Jacob O'Brien. She is also survived by her sisters, SueAnn Hooper Huchcroft, Jeffra Hooper Montroy and Robin Hooper Miller as well as two loving aunts, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
As a devoted military wife she often remarked that she lived in 19 different places in 20 years. She cherished the friends she made throughout her life
and travels and loved keeping up with everyone through phone calls and Christmas cards.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Capital Care Hospice for the excellent care given to her during her short illness and Holy Spirit Catholic Church for their continued support in her faith journey.
Visitation will be held March 22, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042
A memorial mass will be held at 2:30 pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 8800 Braddock Road, Annandale immediately following visitation. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Oak Street, Waddington, NY on July 12, 2025. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery Hogansburg, NY. A celebration of life will follow at the American Legion in Hogansburg, NY.
