Tom was called home to be with the Lord on July 5, 2021. He passed away peacefully with his wife and children by his side. Tom was born in Washington D.C. on July 20, 1944, grew up in Arlington VA and would later reside in Falls Church VA with his wife and children. He was a printing pressman by profession working at Prince Lithograph for sixteen years. After retirement Tom taught at GCIU Local 285. Tom loved classic cars and was particularly fond of his 1962 Corvette which brought great joy to both him and Betty over the years and created wonderful friendships with others who shared his love of the classics.
Tom is survived by his wife Betty of fifty-six years, his two daughters Angie Theodore (Terry) of Centreville VA, Andrea Sams (Will) of Fairfax City and his four grandsons Zachary Theodore (Rebecca) of Middletown VA, Garett Theodore (Centreville), Matthew Theodore (Centreville) and Sean Sams (Fairfax City). Tom is survived by five sisters Pat Sampsell, Peggy Smith, Paula Asselin, Kathy Cooper and Mary Ann Copeland as well as his three brothers Jerry, Donny, and Mike Garneau. He is preceded in death by his father John Garneau, mother Catherine Garneau and brother Lee Garneau.
A celebration of life will be held on August 22, 2021 2:00 p.m. at Twin Lakes, 6201 Union Mill Road, Clifton, VA 20124
