Born in Napa, California, on October 8th, 1947. Tim was the son of LaVaughn Fleming (née Delk) and Curtis Fleming, both deceased. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jacqueline Fleming, and is survived by his brother, David Fleming of Franklin, Tennessee and his niece, Hayley Fleming of Nashville, Tennessee.
Known for his quick wit as well as his athletic and musical talents, Tim had a gift for making people laugh—often to tears. He shared a lifelong bond of more than 40 years with his closest friend, Bonnie Sullivan, the mother of his godchildren, a relationship that reflected his deep loyalty and love of family.
Tim devoted himself to the care and guidance of his three godchildren: Stacy Summitt of Edinburg, Virginia; Danny Sullivan II of Cape Charles, Virginia and Christopher Sullivan of Fairfax, Virginia (deceased). He also cherished his role as a god-grandfather to Kaitlyn Sullivan.
A familiar presence on Arlington’s pickup basketball courts well into his 40s, Tim was fiercely competitive and full of life. He loved the ocean and took joy in teaching those close to him how to swim and enjoy the beach.
Tim will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and the lasting impact he had on all who knew him.
A service will be held at King David Memorial Chapel on April 4th at 2:00 pm. A graveside service will follow and will be limited to his godchildren and their families.
