Vincent James Santolini, 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 9, 2018. He was born in Italy to the late Rocco and Beatrice Santolini on September 16, 1928. He joined the United States Air Force in the 1940’s and spent four years at the Pentagon in Washington, DC. Vincent retired from working as a brickmason and was a 50 year member of the Brick Layers Local 1.
Vincent enjoyed spending time, especially bowling, with the love of his life, Sharon. Vincent and Sharon were on bowling leagues together for more than 20 years. Their daughters practically grew up in the area bowling alleys. They met many of their close friends bowling and created lifelong friendships through the various leagues.
Vincent was many things to his family; a husband, a father, a hero, and a great cook! He enjoyed cooking for everybody and even thumbing through cook books to see if there were any new recipes he wanted to try. Vincent and Sharon enjoyed spending time at University of Maryland Football games and watching the Washington Nationals play together. Vincent was a great family man who enjoyed the precious moments with his wife, daughters, grandchildren, and friends. He will be greatly missed by all of those who knew him.
Vincent leaves behind to cherish his memories his beloved wife of 51 years, Sharon Kay Santolini; his two loving daughters, Angela Le (Minh) and Gina Thomas (Vince); and his cherished grandchildren, Joseph Michael Santolini, Jordan Nicole Le, and Ryan James Le.
A Celebration of Life for Vincent will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 beginning at 3pm at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Virginia 22042. Vincent will later be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery.
