DR. WILLIAM EDWARD BENSON, 91 of Springfield passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2010. He is preceded in death by his wife, Freda. He is survived by; two daughters, Sharon Rachel, and Margaret "Lynn" Walker; a son, William "Chip" Benson; nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and his beloved partner, Sarah Rhodes. A service to celebrate Bill's Life will be held at the chapel of Green Springs, 7420 Spring Village Drive, Springfield, VA on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at National Memorial Park, Falls Church, VA. In Lieu of flowers the family would like memorial donations to be made to either, the National Science Foundation or Parkinson.org.
