Denise Barbis

Denise was born on May 14, 1951, to her loving parents, James and Gertrude Farrell. She built a beautiful life rooted in family, laughter, and love. She was the beloved wife of Ronald P. Barbis, with whom she shared more than 40 years of marriage, partnership, and memories. She was a cherished mother to Danielle Roe (Chris), Michelle Wienczorkowski (Vincent), Lauren Maceroni (Nick), Gina Heyder (Richie), and Matthew Barbis (Renee). Denise was also an adored Nana and Grandma to Ryan, Nora, Luke, Cori, Richie, Anthony, Matthew, Christopher, Evan and Robert each of whom held a very special place in her heart. Denise was a dear sister to Barbara, Margaret, Kathleen, Richard, James, and Bernadette, and she treasured her close bond with her family above all else.

Denise found joy in life’s simple pleasures – a soft-serve vanilla cone, a hot cup of tea, or an order of fries. She filled her time with music, dancing, shopping, flowers, a good book, her favorite shows and a nice beer. She was a beautiful woman who took pride in her appearance and was rarely seen without being dressed to the nines.

Above all, Denise was deeply family-oriented, always happiest when surrounded by those she loved. Denise will be sorely missed and forever remembered for her warmth, her style, her humor, and the immense love she gave so freely.

Family and friends may gather on Sunday, February 8, from 12–4 PM at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, 315 Conklin Street, Farmingdale, New York 11735. A Prayer service will be held that afternoon at 3:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Denise’s memory to the Long Island Alzheimer’s and Dementia Center.
