Edward Robert Gonsalves, Jr.

Gonsalves, Edward Robert Jr., of Bethpage passed away unexpectedly October 4, 2024, at the age of 68. Beloved husband of 44 years to Victoria. Loving father of Danielle Garrett (Douglas) and Victoria Higgins (Ryan). Adored grandfather of Dylan, Broady, Lyla, and Cara. Cherished brother of Mary Jane Terraghi (Bobby) and Alice Carbone. Treasured uncle of many nieces and nephews and dear friend of many. Devoted “Dog-Pa” of Big Boy and Daisy Dukes. Edward was a true character, he was strong willed, outspoken, compassionate, loving, and funny. When in public with Edward, he always had you on the edge of your seat, because he would say whatever was on his mind, no matter where he was, and he truly didn’t care what anyone would say. Edward got a kick out of driving his daughter’s boat, because his driving was just like his personality, kept you on the edge of your seat.  He was a diehard Yankee fan and went to many games with his family. Edward’s family was the light of his life but, his grandchildren were his world. He traveled all over to see his grandson’s play baseball and never missing a single game. Edward loved traveling with his family, whether it was the Caribbean, St. Lucia, Grenada, or their most recent vacation, Turks and Caicos, as long as they were together, that’s all that mattered. He enjoyed going to their Florida home and called it his “little slice of Heaven”. Edward was all about having a good time, going out a few times a week whether it was to his favorite restaurant, The Rabbits Foot or somewhere else, if they had music and an espresso martini, he was happy. Edward will be forever missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. The family will receive visitors Friday, October 11th, 5-9 pm at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Broadway, Bethpage. Funeral Mass Saturday, October 12th, 10 am at St. Martin of Tours RC Church. Entombment following at St. Charles Cemetery.
