Bird, Ellen, 80, of Woodbury, passed away peacefully September 12, 2024. Ellen’s parents, Joseph and Elizabeth immigrated to America from Ireland. Ellen was the beloved wife of John for 60 years. Dear sister of Jimmy and Barbara. Loving mother to Barbara, John, William and Alison. Cherished grandmother to Kelly, Brandon, Blaise, Connor, Ryan, Dylan, Hunter and Tyler. Ellen dedicated her life to tirelessly supporting her husband and family. She enjoyed her adorable dogs, hobbies, collectibles, time with her extended family and retirement trips throughout our beautiful country with the love of her life, John. The family will receive visitors Monday, September 16th, 3-7 pm at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Broadway, Bethpage. Funeral Service Tuesday, September 17th, 9:30 am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Plainview. Interment following at Maple Grove Cemetery, Kew Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations in Ellen's name be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, woundedwarriorproject.org, or Hospice Care Network, www.hospicecarenetwork.org.
