He was married to the love of his life, Gertrude Pennino, in 1958 and celebrated 62 years of marriage. He attended Mortuary school and was an Undertaker for a short time before learning Metal Machining and working as a Tool & Die Maker for most of his life. He is responsible for several patents on parts he invented, including integral parts that formed the neck portion of the plastic milk cartons of today & a conveyor belt cleaning system for candy factories of which was purchased and used in the Hershey factory in Pennsylvania. He retired at age 65. His hobbies included providing for his cherished family, working with his hands, home improvement projects, fresh water fishing, following the METS, reading & watching mystery books/movies, romantic Hallmark movies. He was very interested in the digital age and learning how to do it all so he could keep up with the times. The last few years of his life he spent many enjoyable hours, five days a week, meeting with great friends that he called family, for breakfast at McDonalds and then off to the Senior Center at Tanner Park in the Town of Babylon. He played Bingo, sang Karaoke and shared an endless number of jokes that he could pull from his memory bank at any given time. He created laughter and smiles in abundance and was dearly loved by everyone who knew him.
Frank served in the Military branch of the Coast Guard from 1952-1956 during the Korean War period and was extremely proud & patriotic. He loved when anyone thanked him for his service and always grabbed their hand to thank them in return by handing them a business card that read “You Thanked Me for My Service, Thank You for being an American worth fighting for”.
