Salgine, Joseph, of Farmingdale, formerly of Elmont passed away unexpectedly on February 13, 2022 at the age of 56. Longtime power plant mechanic for National Grid. Loving and devoted husband of 30 years to Ana. Beloved father of Brian and Kevin. Adored Dog Dad to Patrick, "P-Dog". Dear brother to Michael (T), predeceased by siblings Dennis and John. Cherished and loyal friend to Tom Lynch, Conan Ford and Brian Renda. Joseph loved the beach, mountains, the outdoors and traveling. He made many memories with his family camping in their motor home at the North South Lake in the Catskills and in Cape Cod. Joseph was adventurous, enjoying fishing, hiking, scuba diving, surfing, and jet skiing. He was insistent about doing projects around the house, never hiring contractors because he knew he could do a better job. It was his unspoken motto, if you wanted anything done right, you must do it yourself. He instilled this in his sons and as they grew up, they tackled projects together. Joseph was passionate about cars, especially Corvettes. His kind heart and personality will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. The family will receive visitors Friday and Saturday, February 18th and 19th, 2-4 ad 7-9 pm at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc., 315 Conklin Street, Farmingdale. Funeral Service Saturday, February 19th, 8:30 pm at the funeral home. Cremation Private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Joseph’s memory to the American Diabetes Association; diabetes.org or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation; JDRF.org.
