Morrison, Rick, 70, of Farmingdale, born Edward R. Morrison III, passed away March 17, 2025. Beloved husband of Terri Morrison. Loving father of Kristin (Dylan Cook) and Kali (Matthew Richard). Dear brother of Chuck and Randy. Rick was a highly respected and decorated member of the Farmingdale community. He was an Eagle Scout, as well as a Girl Scout, a dedicated member of the Farmingdale Board of Education for nine years, and a committed participant in the Farmingdale PAL (Police Activity League) for over 20 years. Rick also volunteered at the AHRC Christmas party playing Santa for two decades, served as a Co-op Board Member and President for over 10 years, and was the Jr. Warden of St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church as well as a Sunday school teacher. What more could be said about Rick? He devoted his time, energy, and care to his community and was deeply loved and respected by all who knew him. Whenever someone needed help, Rick was there—always ready with the right tools and the knowledge to make a difference. A skilled telecommunicator, Rick’s career spanned various school districts, police precincts, hospitals, parks, and zoos, where he witnessed it all. Outside of work, he was an avid concert-goer with a deep love for classic rock, which made him an invaluable member of any trivia team when it came to music. Rick was a loyal Mets and Islanders fan, always knowing the game wasn’t over until the ushers told you it was time to leave. He truly embraced life to the fullest. Rick’s passion for volunteering, music, and sports profoundly influenced his wife and daughters, leaving a lasting legacy. He triumphed over neck/throat cancer in 2010 and survived a stroke in 2019, demonstrating his strength and resilience. Though we are heartbroken by his loss, we take comfort in knowing that Rick is at peace, surrounded by the loved ones who went before him. He will forever be cherished, loved and remembered as a truly great husband, father, and friend. The family will receive visitors Saturday, March 22nd, 5-9 pm, and Sunday, March 23rd, 5-9 pm at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc., 315 Conklin Street, Farmingdale. Funeral Service Monday, March 24th, 11 am at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Farmingdale. Cremation private.
