
Gladys Irene Wilson Nunley, 89, of Fayetteville, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015 at her home following an extended illness. Born on September 19, 1925 in Wayne County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Alice Jackson Wilson. Mrs. Nunley was a devoted minister’s wife, dedicated mother, and faithful servant of the Lord. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Rev. Leon Nunley; and six brothers and a sister. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Mary Wade and husband, Robert of Fayetteville and Judy Payne and husband, Lee of Fayetteville; two granddaughters, Pamela England and husband, Mark of Mt. Hope and Kimberly Nugen and husband, Alan of Fayetteville; two great grandchildren, Savannah England and Logan Nugen; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and countless church family that was dear to her through her many years of ministry. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Minister Pat Franklin and Rev Danny Goins officiating. Burial will follow at Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville. The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral on Tuesday.
