Louise Virginia Pennington

Louise Virginia Pennington passed away peacefully at her home in Garten, W.Va. on Sunday, July 30, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Kaymoor, W.Va. on April 24, 1925, Louise was the daughter of the late John and Nellie Coppney.

Louise’s greatest joy was her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Pennington; and sons John “T-Bone” Pennington and Michael George Pennington. Among her four brothers and three sisters, she was the last surviving sibling.

Louise was a loving mother and granny. Her children were shaped by her strength and nurturing love. Those she left behind include her sons Sam (Debby); Tommy (Mary); Jimmy (Larry); and Kenny (Becky); and daughters Linda (Roy); Angie (Keith); Martha; and Jay (Mark).

Louise also left behind 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren to cherish her memories. Louise's legacy of love and family is one that extends beyond traditional bounds, being affectionately known as “Granny” to many who knew her.

Services will be conducted at Dodd Payne Hess Funeral Home in Fayetteville on Thursday, August 3 at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Huse Memorial Park in Fayetteville. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
