Sarah Jane Campbell entered into her eternal reward on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at the age of 67. “Janie” was born on July 25, 1956 in Oak Hill, W.V. to James and Mary Ellen Neff. She was a 1974 graduate of Fayetteville High School and began working at State Farm Insurance following graduation.
It wasn’t long after that she captured the heart of the love of her life, Rev. Arthur Eugene Campbell, Jr. They attended the Fayetteville First Church of God together and fell in love. They were married on June 26, 1981. They were married almost 43 years. They loved each other greatly. Their union brought forth two sons, Rev. Arthur (Artie) Eugene Campbell, III and John Andrew Campbell. She was the greatest Mom in the world to Artie and John. She loved them, supported them, and was always there for them. She taught them love and faith in Jesus.
Janie was a wonderful wife and a loving mother. Anyone that knew her also knew that she was also a proud grandmother. She loved her grandchildren with all her heart. They were her joy. She was also the world’s best “Mawmaw” to Zoey, Samhain, Adi, Jayden, Gabby, and Tober.
Janie touched so many lives throughout the years with her love and faith. Her smile was like no other and would light up a room. Just seeing her smile would make your day better. She touched many people's lives as she worked at New River Bank and One Valley Bank (later BB&T) for many years connecting and showing care to people within the community. She loved helping people.
She loved to read and believed in the importance of education. She volunteered in the local schools to help tutor and work with students. She touched many lives with her passion to help others learn.
Most importantly, she loved the Lord. She loved teaching people about Jesus. She began working with children’s ministry at the age of 16 and continued to work in ministry the rest of her life. She worked with youth, women’s ministries, and was a vital support for her husband as a pastor’s wife.
There are not enough words to describe or tell the fullness of who Janie was and what she meant to all of us. She will be missed greatly. She fought the good fight, she kept the faith, and she has finished the race to hear the words: “Well done, good and faithful servant”.
She was preceded in death by her father James “Jim” Neff, sister Elizabeth “Libby” Nichols, and nephew Andrew Nichols. She loved and missed them greatly.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, her “sweetie”, Rev. Arthur Eugene Campbell. Jr of Fayetteville, WV; Her beloved sons: Rev. Arthur “Artie” Eugene Campbell, III (Tiffany) of New Port Richey, FL and John Andrew Campbell (Rose) of Mt. Hope, WV; Her precious Grandchildren: Zoey Campbell, Samhain Campbell, Adison Campbell, Jayden Campbell, Gabriella Campbell, and Oktober Campbell; Her loving mother, Mary Ellen Neff of Fayetteville, WV. Her loving brother, James “Bo” Neff of Harrisonburg, VA. Also left to cherish her memory are nieces and nephews: Andrea Nichols, Grant Campbell, Hope Wright, Hannah Neff, and Josiah “JJ” Neff, and host of family, friends, and church family whom she loved dearly.
A Memorial Service will be held at Fayetteville First Church of God beginning at 5:00 PM on Saturday, June 22, 2024 with Reverend Tony Bailey Officiating.
