“All my burdens are behind me, I have prayed my final prayer. I am standing on the mountain; I can hear the angels' song. Take my hand Lord, lead me home." Tammy Lynn Ford (56) of Ames Heights passed from this life on Monday Feb 2, 2015, at the home of her sister with her loving family at her side. Tammy was born Nov 20, 1958, the firstborn daughter of the late Charles Jr. and Faye Dixon of Ames Heights. She graduated with the class of 1977 from Midland Trail High School. Tammy's gorgeous dimples and beautiful smile were as bright as the sunshine. She loved being with her family, long rides in the country, her cats Gracie and Girlfriend and her dog Teddy. Tammy's joy in life was her son Charlie Ford of Ames Heights, her daughter Tara Simms of Victor, and her grandchildren Dakota, CJ, Jett, Jordan, Karisma and Kiersten. She had an unbreakable bond with her special niece, Chasity Lesher, the keeper of her secrets and instigator of her smiles. Also left with treasured memories are Tammy's companion James Kennison of Rainelle, special niece Tanya Eldridge, great nephew Levi Lesher and many other family and friends. A sister is a gift to the heart, a friend to the spirit, and a golden thread to the meaning of life. Tammy chose to live her last months surrounded by the love and comfort that only a sister could give. She knew peace, comfort and unconditional love in the home of her dearest sister Betsy and husband Dennis Lesher of Ames Heights. She went on to a Heavenly reunion with her late brothers Ronald and Monty Dixon. A celebration of Tammy's life will be Wednesday February 4, 2015 from 5-6 pm at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home in Fayetteville with Pastor Delmas Wolfe officiating. In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated following services. Tammy's family would like to thank Hospice of Southern WV, and especially the two hospice angels Stephanie Isaacs and Amy Lanham who went above and beyond in their care for both Tammy and her family.
