Betty Jean Broughton

Betty Jean Broughton, 85 of Palm Coast, FL. passed away on September 26, 2018 at her home. She was born on November 10, 1932 in Barbourville, Kentucky to the late Chester A. Bargo and Sallie B. Messer. Betty attended Union College and then married William R. Broughton and raised 7 sons. In 2000 she moved to the Palm Coast area. Her memberships included Daughters of the American Revolution and the Order of The Eastern Star where she served as Worthy Matron. Betty enjoyed gardening and researching her family’s geneology on ancestry.com but her greatest love was spending time with her family and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Broughton; son, Daniel G. Broughton in 2008. Survivors include her sons, James R. (Kay) Broughton, William Edward (Patricia) Broughton, Ralph Douglas (Louise) Broughton, Richard Allen Broughton, Steven Matthew Broughton, Joseph Blake Broughton; grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Robinson, Crystal Broughton, Tracy (Aaron) Carter, Matthew Broughton and Caleb Broughton; great-grandchildren, Beatrix Robinson, Wesley Robinson, Emma Carter, Sawyer Carter, Joan Marie Craig, Kimberly Lynn (Bryce) Ludwikowski, Christopher Allen Broughton, Christian Michael Craig; great-great-grandchildren, Aiden Thomas Kalieriezen and Sophia Baeza. Arrangements are in the care and trust of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.
