Bienvenida "Venus" Leonardo

Born on March 22, 1932, in Puerto Rico, Venus was the cherished daughter of Juan and Elosia Cancel Palleja.

A respected businesswoman with a vibrant and elegant spirit, Venus was the owner and operator of Venus Interiors, where she proudly served countless families throughout Flagler and Volusia counties for many years. Known for her warmth, creativity, and keen eye for design, she built not only a successful business, but lasting friendships within the community she loved.

Venus embraced life with joy and enthusiasm. She found happiness in dancing, sewing, golfing, gambling, and traveling, always bringing laughter, style, and energy wherever she went. Her adventurous nature and love of life were matched only by her unwavering devotion to her family, who remained the center of her world.

She shared 47 loving years of marriage with her husband, Hank Leonardo, whom she married on November 29, 1958. He preceded her in death on December 24, 2005.

Venus leaves behind her three devoted daughters, Laura Ann Leonardo-Flynn and her husband, Danny, of Ormond Beach, Denise Leonardo of Ormond Beach, and Lisa Leonardo of Holly Hill; as well as her beloved grandson, Dylan Flynn.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Frank Leonardo, and five siblings.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, May 16, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at Flagler Memorial Gardens.
