

Joe was born in Bunnell on December 7, 1937, a son of George and Vera Stephens Kelly.
He was a 1956 graduate of Bunnell High School. Following graduation, Joe began working for Wadsworth Lumber. He later served as a Flagler County Deputy Sheriff before retiring as a dispatcher from Conrad and Yelvington.
Joe enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, and riding dune buggies and 4 wheelers. He will be remembered for his hardworking nature, dedication to his family, and the many friendships he made throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Beverly Gies Kelly, whom he married on July 26, 1959; two children, Luann (Wayne) Wiggs of Lake City and Billy “Joe” (Colette) Kelly of Bunnell; two grandchildren, Tayla (Brad) Bond and Lacey (Lane) Kelly; two great-grandchildren, Emmalyn and Braelyn Bond, and many nieces and nephews whom he adored.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilburn “Buddy” Kelly and Louis Kelly; and one sister, Joyce Townsend.
Family and friends will be received Friday, May 29, from 5:00 until 6:00 PM at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, where a memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM.
