Brian Arthur Rudi, 81, of Palm Coast, Florida—formerly of Flagler Beach and originally of Maywood, New Jersey—passed away peacefully at his residence on May 21, 2025, surrounded by love and the enduring presence of a life well lived.
Born on June 24, 1943, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Brian was the beloved son of Windber and Genevieve Meyers Rudi. He spent his formative years in Maywood and graduated with pride from Bogota High School, where he first began to show the determination and work ethic that would define his life.
Following high school, Brian answered the call of duty and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. A true patriot, he served his country honorably for three years, earning the lasting respect of those who served beside him. After his honorable discharge in 1965, Brian returned home and embarked on a distinguished career in the electrical trades, joining Local 164 of the IBEW. With dedication and integrity, he worked there for 55 years, leaving an indelible mark on his profession and those who had the privilege to work alongside him.
In 1975, Brian married the love of his life, Maureen McKeon. Together, they shared five remarkable decades filled with laughter, travel, devotion, and a shared sense of adventure. In retirement, the couple journeyed across the Caribbean, creating cherished memories in Belize and Honduras, and savoring the simple joys of cruising and companionship.
A man of many interests, Brian found great joy in collecting and building model airplanes and trains, a passion that reflected his meticulous nature and childlike wonder. He was also a voracious reader, always seeking to learn, imagine, and explore new ideas.
Brian's legacy lives on in his devoted wife of 50 years, Maureen; his two children, Jonathon (Sue) Rudi of Deltona, Florida, and Kerry (Michael) Denmark of Rotterdam, New York; and his six beloved grandchildren: Michael, Brittani, Emily (fiancé Isaac Gould), Logan (Mary Catherine), Jackson, and Genevieve. He is also survived by his sister, Anita (Seth) Petras of Little Falls, New York, and a wide circle of extended family and friends who admired his quiet strength, loyalty, and steady presence.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his three brothers: Windber, Dennis, and James—each remembered with affection and honor.
Brian's life was defined by service—to his country, to his craft, and most of all, to his family. He will be remembered for his steadfast character, his unassuming warmth, and his deep love for those he held dear.
