Carmen will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years, Jose Vazquez; children, Myrna, Jorge (Michelle), Thomas, and Jose Vazquez Jr (Lisa); 10 grandchildren, John, Robert, Mercedes, Andrew, Thomas, Jessica, Alexis, Alyssa, Jason, and Jacob; her daughter-in-law, Mercedes; her precious dog, Reggie and numerous other family members and friends. Carmen is further survived by her 4 sisters, 2 brothers, and several nieces and nephews who reside in Puerto Rico. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Teresa Barreto and her grandmother, Encarnacion “Mama” Barreto, and her son-in-law, John Sr.
Carmen Ana was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and moved to New York where she met her beloved husband and had her 4 children. She will forever be remembered for her unique sense of humor, love for dancing, commitment to family, love for sports, especially her New York Yankees, and bright personality.
