Connie was born in Flagler County, Fl on September 12, 1948 to her parents Carl Hiriam Durrance and Audrey Allbriton Durrance. She was raised in Flagler County and grew up close with her cousins where they enjoyed swimming in the canal behind their Granny and Grandpas house. It was also where they would ride the horses bareback to Gore Lake to swim. Connie was a part of the class of 1966 at Bunnell High School. Connie got married to Sonny Crain on August 19, 1963 at the young age of 15 and they went on to have 3 children in 4 years.
Connie worked most of her life doing various things. She ran Aunt Connie’s Daycare; she then went on to be a school nurse during the day and worked at Harris Groceries at night for many years before retiring at the age of 70. She enjoyed fishing, boating, buggy rides in the woods, cooking, yearly trips to Steinhatchee and Big Pine Key. Connie enjoyed her family the most. She was present at all of the events for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family gatherings was something she looked forward to. Crossword puzzles, books, game shows and playing cards was something she did daily. She enjoyed going to play bingo and meeting up with her classmates. Sitting around the fire and enjoying company was among her favorite things as well. More than anything she was involved. In the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her presence was everywhere and her connection was felt and intentional. She will be sorely missed and the memories she has made will be forever engraved in the minds and on the hearts of the people she loved and the lives she touched so deeply.
