
Darlene Berkley Smith 59, of Palm Coast, FL. passed away peacefully at home on August 19, 2017. She was born on January 6, 1958 in Washington, DC to the late William Norris Berkley and Peggy Joyce Corder. Darlene was a devout Christian who loved everyone she met, and whose faith in Jesus was absolute even in difficult times. She was a prekindergarten teacher at Palm Coast United Methodist Christian School for over 20 years, where she touched the lives of hundreds of children with her passion for nurturing their academic and spiritual development. For many years she also enjoyed ministering to people that were hospitalized or homebound. Darlene was preceded in death by her sister Belinda McLain in 2007. Survivors include her husband of 40 years Clinton F. Smith III; daughters, Christine Elizabeth (Glenn) Rininger, Allison Marie Smith; sisters, Becky Parker and Trish Doud; brother, Steve Berkley; her beloved grandchildren, Hezekiah “Ki”, Judah, and Silas Rininger, and many more loving relatives and friends. Donations in her memory can be made to the Multiple System Atrophy Coalition (www.multiplesystematrophy.org), or Palm Coast United Methodist Christian School. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, August 26th, 2017, 11:00AM at Palm Coast Community Church. Arrangements are in the care and trust of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.
