

Dolores Colosimo Riley died on January 19, 2018 at her home in Palm Coast, Florida, with family by her side. She was born on August 28, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Joseph and Norberta (McAuliffe) Colosimo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Michael Riley, and son Christopher Riley. Dolores is survived by her sisters Joan (Duggan) and Jean (Geiss), and nine children: Maurean Truncale (Joseph), Teresa Hensle (Lawrence), Michael, James, John (Trudi), Sara (Randi), Daniel, Patricia, and Anne Pappalardo (Neil). She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. All were grateful to receive Dolores’ loving gestures and quiet encouragements. Dolores led a full and blessed life in the care and service of others. She graduated from Saint John’s Hospital School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio. For more than twenty years, as a registered nurse, she worked at Lynchburg (VA) General Hospital and Wilmington (NC) New Hanover Hospital. Upon retirement she was a volunteer at The Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Scranton, Pennsylvania and Meals on Wheels in St. Augustine, Florida. Her faith was paramount to her. She was a devoted parishioner at Holy Cross Catholic Church (Lynchburg), Corpus Christi Catholic Church (St. Augustine) and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church (Palm Coast). On March 12, 2018 at 10:30 AM, the life of Dolores Riley will be celebrated at a Mass at St. John Neumann, 11900 Lawyers Road, Reston, VA. Dolores will be interred with her husband and son at Stonewall Memory Gardens, 12004 Lee Highway, Manassas, VA.
