It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Evan Matukonis. A resident of Flagler County, Florida since 1995, Evan is remembered fondly by all who had the honor of knowing him. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Evan Richard Matukonis was born on August 16th, 1990 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He passed away at his home on July 4th, 2022. He is survived by his parents, Carolyn Acton Matukonis and Richard John Matukonis, his beloved sister, Abigail Acton Matukonis, nephews, Ethan and Quin, as well as a large extended family. Evan was fiercely loved.
Evan was an active member of Challenger Sports in Ormond Beach, Florida. He excelled at baseball and earned the nickname “Home Run Evan,” for good reason.
He loved baseball, visiting theme parks, singing, dancing, eating pizza, traveling, holidays, (his enthusiasm was legendary.), his vast and carefully organized collection of DVD’s, (He could expertly recite movie quotes to fit any occasion.), and spending time with his family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Evan’s honor to the National Autism Association.
His will be missed tremendously. Fly high with the angels Evan.
A visitation for Evan will be held Friday, July 15, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach, Florida 32136. A funeral service will occur Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home. Evan will be laid to rest in Flagler Memorial Gardens, 511 Old Kings Road, Flagler Beach, FL 32136.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.craigflaglerpalms.com for the Matukonis family.
