After retiring from the Town of Bethlehem Highway Department in Delmar NY, Fernando and Mary moved to Palm Coast, Florida, in 2004, to enjoy their golden years.
A devoted husband for 60 years he was predeceased by his cherished wife, Mary and a son-in-law, Jerry Burrows.
Fernando always put God and his family first. He enjoyed listening to opera and watching a good boxing match, too. He also enjoyed planting a vegetable garden, his incredible fig tree, and sharing it all with family and friends. He was selfless, humble, respectful, giving and always kind to those he met.
He especially loved, thoroughly enjoyed, and was extremely proud of his grandchildren, Elizabeth G. (Steven) Katona, Joseph Michael Brown, and Mary Rose Brown. They would have their own special Sunday morning time with him after Mass. which he cherished.
Fernando is survived by his two daughters Rita (Jerry) Burrows and Lisa (Michael Harold) Brown.
A funeral Mass for Fernando will be celebrated on Friday, February 16, at 11:00 am. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast, FL 32164. A visitation will be held in the memorial room before Mass from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow the Mass at Craig Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens.
